Louis was born in 1973 and currently lives in Riebeek Kasteel.

"I grew up in Cape Town, moved to Pretoria in 1985. Matriculated at Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool, Pretoria in 1991. Studied Fine Arts at the University of Pretoria for 2 years. Traveled in Europe for a year. Worked as a desktop publishing artist for 2 years. Moved back to Cape Town in 1996. Worked in the film industry until 2003 as a scenic painter and props person. Have been painting professionally since 2003. I have taken part in numerous  group exhibitions in South Africa over the last decade and
