Award-winning visual artist Li Nepgen has worked as a muralist and ceramist, and is currently focusing primarily on painting, which she considers a challenge, a discipline and a passion. Her 20-year art journey has been a personal one, using the beauty, moods and spirituality of the arum lily as an object of expression. In Li’s works, these iconic flowers have stood on their own, floated in sand dunes, hung from crosses and shared a bed with a skull.
Li has donated artwork for local fundraisers, taken part in various group exhibitions, and had her first solo exhibition in the Riebeek Valley in 2015. Her works are held in private collections worldwide.
Li holds a national diploma in fine art from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
