Sharon Bischoff

Sharon's preferred medium is pencil drawing and the subject that most intrigues her is that of people.  She enjoys putting their lives into paper, using the gritty realness of pencil, the rich textures of acrylic paint and the vibrant colours of pastels.

"For my solo exhibition as I started to research tattoos, the magnitude of the project dawned on me and I felt as though I was merely 'scratching the surface' of the subject matter."  Sharon's artwork depicts people she knows who have used tattoos not only to beautify their bodies, but also to make a connection with something larger than themselves - inspirational words to live by, loved ones who have passed away and symbols that keep memories alive.
