Continuum_Over the Rainbow

September arrives with the intoxicating scent of viburnum drifting through my studio window, carrying me back to my teenage years. I remember my first love, a little blue ceramic bird nestled in a cotton bag, with the words of Over the Rainbow tucked inside. A small gift holding the magic of first love and the promise of somewhere beyond the rainbow where dreams come true.

This September, extraordinary cloud formations, powerful winds and sun-filled days inspired my work. I responded to the beauty and movement of nature, yet beneath the wonder lay an unease. The changing weather made me question the vulnerability of the creation that surrounds me.

My work emerges from this tension between wonder and concern, and responsibility towards our mothering Earth.

Perhaps Over the Rainbow is no longer about longing for somewhere else, but about learning to see and cherish the extraordinary world already here. Through Continuum, I explore our connection to nature and our place within creation.

Can I look at the world with wonder, without looking away from its vulnerability?
