WEEDS

August 18, 2020 - September 18, 2020

What belongs? And what does not? In this body of work, Jenny Parsons uses weeds to examine how some forms of growth are valued over others. A city is a reflection of the choices that society has made over time. These paintings document the relationship between our values and our occupation of the land. The acid palette is integral to this work, highlighting the artifice of the suburban environment, whilst disruptions of the painted surface suggest the complexity of competing interpretations of our use of the land.
