"Visual reflections on the use of prison as a metaphor for depression."
This body of work by Brünn Kramer came about after his diagnosis of Depression in 2018 and is based on his "lived experience, through which depression can feel like a self-constructed prison."
He uses a variety of mediums including; charcoal, photographic transfers, paint, linocuts and a combination of burning and smoking techniques. Prison shivs, shanks, hand-made dice from papier mâchè and glass marbles, strings and tolls combined reflect fragments of his childhood in relation to depression feeling like a self-constructed prison.
